Tasting Notes
2021 The Anchor is an exciting Mourvedre-driven wine and is born of 100% Copia Willow Creek Estate fruit. Mourvedre is a shining star at the Estate and features telltale savory and earthy notes on the nose and palate. The Anchor explodes with meatiness, dark fruit, herbs and black pepper. Ratings
"Its deep ruby/plum hue is followed by a rich, full-bodied, powerful red offering loads of ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit ... a stacked mid-palate, and building tannins. It's a killer bottle of Mourvedre that will benefit from a year or two in bottle." -95-97 pts I Jeb Dunnuck

Tasting Notes
Anita and Varinder have long been inspired by the Tempranillo-dominated wines of the Ribera del Duero and Rioja regions of Spain. It's a varietal that not only speaks volumes about its power, but also displays incredible grace. The Matador is muscular with aromas of dark fruit and has notes of warming spices with floral undertones. Appearing brooding at first, this wine is multi layered as it glides over the palate long enough to make you imagine the "bullfight" that inspired the label.
Ratings
"Classic Tempranillo notes of red and black fruits, sandalwood, cedar pencil, and dried flowers define the aromatics ... a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, ripe and building tannins, and outstanding length." -94-96 pts I Jeb Dunnuck
