2021's The Story comes out of the gate with power and elegance. Aromas of lavender, juniper, thyme and sage abound amongst a concentration of juicy black cherry. With refined tannins, The Story lingers on the palate with a medium-full body and lasting finish. 
 

Grapes were carefully berry and cluster sorted, 100% destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. After a cold maceration of 3 days, daily punch-downs, pump-overs and pneumotage were conducted through the first half of fermentation. Minimal capwork thereafter.

 

This is the very first harvest from Copia's Willow Creek Estate Vineyard, which, geographically speaking, backs into Terry Hogue's TH Estate Vineyard and L'Aventure's Arbor Road Vineyard. This harvest was very similar to becoming new parents, complete with dreams of perfection and lack of sleep. We are very happy with the quality of the fruit of this first harvest.

The 2021 Story comes back to its roots of being Grenache-dominant over 90%.
